COSTA RICA

A worldwide leader in ecotourism, Costa Rica is recognized for its rich biodiversity and known for its warm and welcoming people who live by the expression ‘Pura Vida.’ The community of Santa Cruz is conveniently located less than an hour from the Liberia International Airport and surrounded by rural agricultural communities and pristine beaches. Santa Cruz offers Squads Abroad groups, a chance to experience everyday “Tico” life while taking part in impactful volunteer projects. As a High School volunteer with Squads Abroad in Costa Rica, you’ll be warmly welcomed into the rich relaxed ‘Pura Vida’ lifestyle to make an impact alongside community partners. GHANA

As a volunteer in Ghana, you’ll find a unique richness everywhere you look, from the country’s cultural history to its varied expanses of wilderness and coastline. Known for its exceptionally warm national character, Ghana, meaning “Warrior King,” is a place where visitors are welcomed as friends. With English as an adopted “official” language, amazing connections can be made for your Squad Abroad in Ghana as you’ll be welcomed warmly into a colorful tribal culture with your team of global change-makers. Upon returning from Ghana you’ll have amazing stories and photos to share with your friends and family back home. HONDURAS

Outside of the major cities, Hondurans live a very tranquil and community-centered life. Our program is located in the southwestern El Paraiso province where Squads groups volunteer in safe and under-resourced communities within the mountain regions. Each community has a distinct culture and way of life, including different architectural styles like homes made of local materials. Honduras boasts proud historical traditions displayed through the way of life within the communities where your group can undoubtedly make the most profound and lasting impact. Come volunteer with our passionate team, and gain an amazing new perspective to share with your friends and family back home.

My Squads
Squads are passionate groups of volunteers who mobilize abroad to create positive change. Each Squad type has a skill-based focus area that support the education, health and economic development objectives of community partners. Faculty choose their dates, duration (typically 1-2 weeks), and their site location from one of our six program countries.
