Current Positions

Program Associate (July 2020 – June 2021)

The Program Associate (PA) role is a unique entry level experience and opportunity to get involved with an international development organization for a year-long period or more in Honduras or Panama. PAs are expected to commit to their role, and the volunteers they are supporting for a duration of at least 11 months. PAs play an important piece as an on-the-ground team member abroad working as a link between volunteers and local programming and operations teams. After a successful completion of 11 months in the Program Associate role, team members are eligible for additional opportunities within the organization that may support further volunteer growth, engagement, or monitoring and evaluation efforts. Program Specialist

The Squads Abroad Program Specialist is a member of the Squads Abroad team within Global Brigades, Inc. and is responsible for executing organizational goals focused on volunteer program planning, preparation, and execution. This includes new Squad support and development, Squad planning timeline execution, Squad follow-up, retention, and engagement. Summer Internship

Exclusively offered to the highest performing Squads Abroad student leaders, interns spend four weeks in one of our program countries as a part of our local staff. Interns gain direct experience working with our field staff to conduct follow-up work and implement our research and evaluation practices. Scholarships are available for all in-country accommodations. Requirements (1) Must be an in-coming freshman to university (2) a previous Squads Abroad student-leader and (3) strongly recommended by high school faculty leaders. Squads are passionate groups of volunteers who mobilize abroad to create positive change. Each Squad type has a skill-based focus area that support the education, health and economic development objectives of community partners. Faculty choose their dates, duration (typically 1-2 weeks), and their site location from one of our six program countries.
