Global STEM Squads
Provide access to clean water in rural underserved communities through applying STEM skills.
LEARN HOW TO GET INVOLVED

STEM for Clean Drinking Water
STEM Squads work alongside local engineers to assess, design, and construct infrastructure projects that improve access to clean water. Students will conduct surveys with local community members, learn the science behind water testing, and develop engineering skills to help design and build the water systems.
Building Cultural Competence
Volunteers learn directly from our local engineers and community leaders on the challenges of water access in the developing world while participating in enrichment activities that immerse them in local culture.

ABOUT STEM SQUADS

Global STEM Squads empower students to develop and apply their STEM skills to improve access to clean drinking water for partner communities. Programs can range between 1-2 weeks and include enrichment activities that build cultural competence inspired by the local population.
Each volunteer has an individual donation goal depending on the country to help cover logistical expenses such as transport, local staff, meals, insurance, accommodations and also the year-round follow-up to their project by our local staff. Additionally, each group fundraises $1500 as a team to go toward the water project.
Each Squad needs a minimum of 6 volunteers and one faculty leader. The faculty participate without a donation goal.
